Aliaa Khidr,

MD, Ph.D., CCC/SLP

Dr. Khidr is a  professor of Phoniatrics (medical speech pathology) with 36 years plus of clinical services, research and teaching. She served in the Otolaryngology Department of Ain Shams Medical School, Cairo Egypt, and in the Communication Disorders Department of the University of Virginia.  Dr. Khidr is an international consultant that has helped many Middle Eastern countries, as well as the University of Virginia, start up their own “Professional Voice laboratories”.  Her textbook addressing Voice Health Solutions for Professional Speakers reflects her expertise.  Dr. Khidr is part of a global team raising awareness regarding swallowing challenges in aging populations. Dr. Khidr also enjoys promoting understanding of the mindfulness practices of Islam through onsite workshops targeting the University of Virginia community and the local Charlottesville community. She has an online presence  through the nonprofit organization “Lita Aarafu = Knowing & learning from  “Each Other”  how to live mindfully of our “true Purpose in Life”
