Maintenance Director

Summary

The Maintenance Director oversees the Facilities Maintenance function and associates of the Maintenance Department of DCA.

Responsibilities

• Manages, motivates, trains, evaluates, and reviews maintenance personnel.

• Schedules maintenance employees to work on projects, repairs, and preventative maintenance in a timely manner.

• Oversees the hiring and use of contractors and contracted maintenance employees working on the DCA property and equipment, ensuring they work safely and efficiently.

• Works with the available resources and oversees projects, purchases, preventative maintenance and work orders.

• Maintains a thorough knowledge of plant equipment and machinery.

• Recommend and purchase new equipment, tools, and repair parts, within budget.

• Assist in purchase, design, and installation of equipment and work areas.

• Responsible for maintaining efficient parts and supply inventory.

• Ensures that all work areas are maintained as safe, clean work areas.

• Work with all facilities employees in seeking ways to eliminate waste and inefficiency throughout the company. – Maintain and promote team relationship within the site operations team.

• Perform such other duties as may be required from time to time.

• Must have leadership skills, and be able to work well with other employees.

• Good work habits and ability to manage time well.

• Maintains and promotes a safe working environment.

• Design and implement safety programs

• Responsible for addressing facility breakdowns that can occur after work hours, weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• College Degree, engineering or project management is desired but not required.

• At least five (5) years of maintenance experience, and three (3) years as a manager.

• Able to work well with others.

• Effective communication skills both oral and written.

• Ability to climb stairs and ladders.

HVAC Operator

Summary

The HVAC Operator will perform operation, maintenance and repairs on all boiler/chiller plant HVAC equipment. He/she will report to and take direction from the Head of Maintenance Department at the DCA.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other functions may be assigned.

• Performs maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment in the boiler/chiller plant including, but not limited to, pumps, chillers, boilers, air compressors, exhaust fans, and cooling towers.

• Performs daily inspections of boiler/chiller plant systems and effectively documents all discrepancies.

• Performs diagnostics, dismantling, alignment, and replacement of chiller/boiler plant equipment and systems not operating to specifications.

• Oversees all work completed by sub-contractors on the HVAC equipment in the boiler/chiller plant and informs management of problems as they are anticipated or develop.

• Uses a variety of hand-tools and computers/devices for performing and documenting work.

• Completes running logs two times a day of all chillers and boilers that are operating.

• May inspect and operate company equipment and vehicles.

• Orders preventative maintenance and repair parts, as needed.

• Adheres to safety policies and industrial practices.

• Performs other duties assigned, including emergency call-in.

Requirements

• Certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning or 2 years apprenticeship; and 2+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to utilize and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance manuals, schematics, and work requests.

• Ability to complete accurate and legible documentation on all work performed.

• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations (EPA Approved Universal Technician, HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer etc..) are plus.

Assistant / Event Planner

Summary

Reporting to the Head of the Media Dept. and President of the DCA, Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the Office of the President, responsible from rentals and plans the events of the DCA.

Responsibilities & Requirements

• Communication: Event coordinators talk to clients, listening to their needs and presenting ideas and solutions to their requirements. They also work with suppliers, contractors, employees, wait staff and many other parties at the same time. Customer service and interpersonal skills are required.

• Calm Under Pressure: Many things can go wrong during an event, and something eventually will. Need to remain calm during a crisis and the high pressure of an event in progress.

• Computer Skills: Rely on computers to communicate, plan, budget and organize the events.

• Negotiation Skills: Event planner will need negotiation skills to work out prices with guests, clients, and contractors.

• Organization: Many things happen all at once at meetings. Event planner needs to stay focused and organized so that the event goes off without a hitch.

• Problem-Solving Skills: Inevitably, something will go wrong at an event. Being able to quickly solve the issue is required.

• 2+ years of field experience; or equivalent combination of education required.

• Basic salary plus commission from rental sales

Graphic Designer / Editor

Summary

Reporting to the Head of the Media Dept. The Designer will work on a variety of products, including websites, books, magazines, product packaging, websites, exhibitions, corporate identity etc. and you will cooperate with our team.

Responsibilities 

• Take the design “brief” to record requirements and DCA needs

• Work with a wide range of media and use graphic design software

• Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics, and layouts

• Prepare rough drafts and present your ideas

• Amend final designs to Creative Director comments and gain full approval

• Fluent in spoken and written in English

• Brainstorming visual and copy ideas with other members of the creative team

• Writing and presenting a few text options to team

Requirements

• Proven graphic designing experience (Behance, Dribbble etc.)

• Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality

• Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio

• Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas

• Up to date with industry-leading software and technologies (In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch etc)

• Highly proficient in all design aspects

• Professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines

Summary

Serves customers by helping them select products at DCA Gift Shop.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes customers by greeting them; offering them assistance.

• Directs customers by escorting them to racks and counters; suggesting items.

• Advises customers by providing information on products.

• Helps customer make selections by building customer confidence; offering suggestions and opinions.

• Documents sale by creating or updating customer profile records.

• Processes payments by totaling purchases; processing checks, cash, and store or other credit cards.

• Keeps clientele informed by notifying them of preferred customer sales and future merchandise of potential interest.

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements
