To Read, Understand and Live the Quran…

Qur’an is the latest divine book that has been sent to Prophet Muhammad from Allah (SWT). Quran addresses to all human beings, and the purpose of this supreme book is to ensure happiness in this World and Hereafter. To gain this goal, we need to read and understand the Qur’an and follow the orders and restrictions. The purpose of reading the Qur’an is understanding it. The purpose of understanding it is to apply it in our lives, to take actions according to its rules, walking after its guidance, and last but not least living the Qur’an in our daily lives. Qur’an is a supreme book which gives a source of wisdom and happiness to humans, enlightens the World, cures the spirits, leads people to gain healthy Iman and conscience and also brightens intellect and souls. In this respect, we need to understand the meaning of life, to be a good believer. In order to overcome the sufferings of life, we need to turn towards the Qur’an and take guidance from it. Whenever the humanity has turned to Qur’an and take it as guidance, whether it was a person or society they have attained peace and reached advanced civilizations. Let us listen to the divine messages of the Qur’an as believers. Let us read, understand and live on the teachings of the Quran. Let us know the way to God’s mercy and happiness of this World and hereafter, will be possible by understanding and living the Qur’an. What a great happiness to whom who has taken Qur’an as his/her guidance in their life.

“[This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded.” (Surah Sad,38/29)
“Indeed, this Qur’an guides to that which is most suitable and gives good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a great reward.” (Surah Isra, 17/9)

We invite you to the Award-Winning Quran Meaning Competition, which we have organized to contribute to our efforts to read, understand and live the Qur’an.

– What is the aim of this competition?
The aim of this competition is to raise awareness about reading, understanding and living the Quran.

– Who can participate in this competition?
The competition planned in two different categories.
A. Category (Ashab-i Dari’l Arkam): (Age 12-15)
The children (girls and boys) who were born between January 1, 2007, and October 1, 2003, can participate.
B. Category: (Ashab-i Suffa): (Age 16-19)
The children (girls and boys) who were born between October 2, 2003, and October 2, 1999, can
participate.

Competition Time: November 1-30, 2018
Exam: December 1, 2018, Saturday, 1:00pm ET, 12:00pm CT, 10:00am PT

– What are the Responsibilities of the Competitors?
1. The Ashab-i Dari’l-Arkam group who are Category A will be responsible from reading meaning of surah’s such as al-Fatiha, Yusuf, Hujurat, Loqman, Maryam, Mulk, Qalam, Dhuha, Inshirah, Alak, Takasur, Asr, Qadir, Zilzal, Humaza, Fil, Ihlas, Falak, and Nas from the book called “My Book The Qur”an”.
The Candidates can download the PDF version free or can take from the addresses that they are going to take the exam. For the meaning of Qur`an we are not providing any book. You can get help from the website below.

2. The Ashab-i Suffa group who are Category B will be responsible from reading meaning of surahs such as Yusuf, Maryam, Anbiya, Haj, Muminun, Nur, Loqman, Yasin, Hujurat, Rahman, Saff, Juma, Mulk, Qalem, Naba, Dhuha, Inshirah, Alak, Zilzal, Takasur, Asr and Humaza. They can read from any translation of the Quran. We are not providing any book for this. For the Qur’an meaning, you can get help from the website The Qur’an

– How Can I apply to the competition?
You can apply via www.diyanetamerica.org/competition until October 31, 2018. The application fee is 10 US Dollars. FORM BELOW!

– Exam Location Information
Click here for the places of the exam. (in 16 States) The candidate will choose the exam place during the application and will take the exam from the same location. Please make sure that you have chosen the convenient exam place. Because the exam booklets will be sent to your address that you have chosen. Candidates can’t enter the exam in a different location.

– What are the evaluation criteria for the exam?
The exam will be a multiple-choice test.
Four wrong answers will cancel one correct answer.
The participant who has the most correct answer will be considered the first.
Weighted points will be applied in the exam. So that some questions will give the participant more points than other ones.
If there is equality in the numbers of correct answers, the one who has done more weighted questions will be the first, if there is equality again, then the younger participant will be considered as the first.

– What are the awards for the competition?
The awards in both categories are as follows:
First Prize: 500 USD
Second Prize: 400 USD
Third Prize: 300 USD
Fourth Prize: 250 USD
Fifth Prize: 200 USD
Sixth prize: 150 USD
Seventh Prize: 125 USD
Eighth Prize: 100 USD
Ninth Prize: 75 USD
Tenth Prize: 50 USD

– When will the exam results be announced?
The exam results will be announced on December 11, 2018, Tuesday.

– When will the Award Ceremony take place?
The award ceremony will be held on December 15, 2018, Saturday. More detailed information about the award ceremony will be shared after the competition.

– Objections:
Objections to the competition can be made within the first three days after the results. The objections have done after 12:00 pm, December 14, 2018, are not going to be evaluated.

 Yarışmaya Kimler Katılabilir?
 Yarışma 2 ayrı kategoride planlanmıştır.
A. Kategorisi (Ashab-ı Dari’l-Erkam) :
1 Ocak 2007 ile 1 Ekim 2003 tarihleri arasında doğan (12-15 yaş grubu) erkek ve kızlar başvurabilir.

B. Kategorisi: (Ashab-ı Suffe) :
2 Ekim 2003 ile 2 Ekim 1999 tarihleri arasında doğan (16-19 yaş grubu) erkek ve kızlar başvurabilir.

 Yarışmaya Ashab-ı Dari’l- Erkam (A) Kategorisinde başvuran adaylar “My Book The Qur’an” adlı kitabı ve Fatiha, Yusuf, Hucurat, Lokman, Meryem, Mülk, Kalem, Duha, İnşirah, Alak, Tekasür, Asr, Kadir, Zilzal, Hümeze, Fil, İhlas, Felak, Nas surelerinin meallerini okumakla sorumludur. Yarışmacılar “My Book The Qur’an” adlı kitabı aşağıdaki linke tıklayarak ücretsiz indirebilir veya yarışmaya katılacakları adreslerden ücretsiz teslim alabilirler. Sorumlu olunan sureler herhangi bir Kur’an mealinden okunabilir. Yarışmacıları sorumlu oldukları sureler için Kur’an meali verilmeyecektir.

Sorumlu olunan sureler herhangi bir Kur’an mealinden okunabilir. Yarışmacılara sorumlu oldukları sureler için Kur’an meali verilmeyecektir.  Yarışmaya Nasıl Başvurulabilir?
 Yarışmacılar 1 – 31 Ekim 2018 tarihleri arasında www.diyanetamerica.org sitesinden yarışmaya başvurabilir.
 Başvuru ücreti 10 Amerikan Dolarıdır.

 Sınav Yeri Bilgileri?
 Sınavın yapılacağı 16 eyalet ve 30 bölgenin adres bilgileri aşağıdaki excell tablosunda sunulmuştur. Yarışmacı başvuru esnasında sınava hangi sınav merkezinde gireceğini seçecek ve sınava orada
girecektir. Lütfen başvuru esnasında kendiniz için isabetli olan sınav merkezini seçtiğinizden emin olunuz. Çünkü size ait sınav kitapçığı seçtiğiniz sınav bölgesine gönderilecektir. Başka bir sınav
merkezinde yarışmaya katılamazsınız.

 Yarışma Sınavı Değerlendirme Kriterleri Nelerdir?
 Yarışma sınavı çoktan seçmeli test şeklinde yapılacaktır.
 4 yanlış cevap 1 doğru cevabı iptal edecektir.
 En çok doğru cevabı işaretleyen katılımcı birinci sayılacaktır.
 Sınavda ağırlıklı puan uygulanacaktır. Yani bazı sorular yarışmacıya diğerlerinden daha fazla puan
kazandıracaktır.
 Doğru cevap sayısında eşitlik olması durumunda sırasıyla, önce ağırlıklı puan sorularından en çok
doğru cevap yapan, yine eşitlik olası durumunda yaşı küçük olan birinci sayılacaktır.

 Ödül töreni 15 Aralık 2018 Cumartesi günü gerçekleştirilecektir. Ödül töreniyle ilgili ayrıntılı bilgiler
yarışma sonrasında paylaşılacaktır.

 İtirazlar
Yarışma ile ilgili itirazlar sonuçların yayınlanmasının ardından ilk üç gün içerisinde yapılabilir. İtirazlar 14 Aralık 2018 12:00 pm’e kadar kabul edilecektir.
