On Sunday, April 12, the Diyanet Center of America hosted the second installment of its Prominent Women of Islam: Stories of Faith & Resilience series, gathering sisters for an inspiring morning centered on the life of Khadijah (رضي الله عنها).
The program drew an enthusiastic turnout and opened with a beautiful Qur'an recitation by DCA's Hifz Girls. The centerpiece of the event was a deeply engaging lecture by Dr. Zeyneb Sayilgan, who brought the remarkable life of the first wife of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to life — her strength, her faith, and her enduring legacy in Islamic history.
Following the lecture, participants tested their knowledge with a lively Kahoot quiz, with prizes awarded to the top performers. The program concluded with a warm potluck gathering, where attendees shared beloved traditional dishes and meaningful conversation — a true celebration of sisterhood and community.
DCA extends its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Zeyneb Sayilgan for her moving and scholarly presentation, to the Hifz Girls for their beautiful recitation, and to every sister who attended, contributed a dish, and made the morning a memorable one.
