The Diyanet Center of America hosted Heartwork Retreat 2026 from August 14–16, 2026. Designed especially for those who have recently embraced Islam, the retreat aimed to support spiritual growth, strengthen Islamic knowledge, and foster meaningful, lasting friendships among participants.
Throughout the three-day program, a variety of topics were explored, including advice for new Muslims, the history of Islam in America, navigating Islamic learning, resilience, the relationship between Islam and culture, women’s fiqh, and community experiences. Sessions led by knowledgeable speakers also allowed participants to ask questions and benefit from a range of experiences and perspectives.
The retreat featured congregational prayers, post-Fajr talks, dhikr and qasida gatherings, as well as fellowship and community-building sessions. Social activities—including a picnic, hiking, basketball, swimming, and henna—gave participants opportunities to enjoy their time together and build stronger connections.
Heartwork Retreat 2026 brought Muslims from diverse backgrounds together in a welcoming and supportive environment, strengthening their sense of Islamic identity, belonging, and brotherhood and sisterhood. We extend our sincere appreciation to all the speakers, coordinators, volunteers, and guests who contributed to this meaningful program.
