DCA Launches Flagship Professional
Leadership Program for Imams
The Diyanet Center of America has officially launched the English for Professional Religious Leadership (EPRL) Program, one of its flagship initiatives to strengthen religious leadership and community service in the United States.
Seven imams, selected through a highly competitive process, have arrived at DCA for the intensive 24-week program. An opening orientation meeting was held in the presence of Assoc. Prof. Fatih Kanca, Chair of DCA’s Advisory Board, to introduce the program’s goals, guide participants, and outline the roadmap for the months ahead. The first class has also begun, marking the start of their training.
EPRL combines professional English instruction with cultural understanding and practical experience in the American context. Field visits, professional simulations, and a final capstone presentation will help participants put their learning into practice.
Through this initiative, DCA is preparing imams to communicate clearly, serve responsibly, and respond thoughtfully to the religious and social needs of Muslim communities across the United States. Their participation will also enrich DCA’s religious and educational programs and strengthen its service to the community.
