An Evening on Muhabba
Many people come to Islam and then find themselves without anyone to teach them. The Muhtadeen Speaker Series exists to change that, bringing scholars to DCA to sit with our community and speak to what actually matters in a believer's life.
We're beginning with muhabba, love, because it's where most people start whether they realize it or not.
Dr. Nour Kabbani will speak on what love means in the life of a believer, why it is the road rather than the reward, and how it carries a person through the parts of the journey that reason alone cannot reach.
Following the talk, the Diyanet Center's own imams, Imam Bunyamin and Imam Ismail, will offer a selection of Turkish qasida.
A community dinner will follow.
Open to everyone. New Muslims, longtime members of the community, and guests are all welcome.
