DCA Hosts First Senior Circle Session

The Diyanet Center of America held its first Senior Circle session, welcoming senior members of the community.

The program began with a Qur’an recitation, followed by opening remarks and a warm welcome from Assoc. Prof. Fatih Kanca. In his address, Prof. Kanca emphasized the importance of kindness toward elders, highlighted the invaluable role seniors play in the community, and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to supporting activities and events that serve them.

Participants then introduced themselves, sharing their backgrounds and experiences. Brother Yousuf Slitine delivered an inspiring talk on the idea that as we grow older, we can continue to grow better.

The gathering continued with a potluck lunch, accompanied by soup, tea, and snacks from the DCA Café. Following the meal, the Director of the DCA Sports Complex led light exercises, after which attendees enjoyed a group walk around the masjid. The program concluded with the Dhuhr prayer.

A special thanks goes to Sister Fauzia and Brother Abdullah for their dedicated efforts in organizing this memorable event.
