DCA 2025 Summer Camp: Empowering the Next Generation of Muslims

Alhamdulillah! DCA Summer Camp 2025 has come to a joyful close!
From Qur’an and tarbiyah to sports, scouting, and art, our campers spent a month growing in faith, character, and friendship.
Jazakum Allahu Khayran to our amazing teachers, volunteers, and parents for making it all possible.
This summer, the Diyanet Center of America (DCA) proudly hosted its 2025 Summer Camp, welcoming dozens of bright and energetic children for a month-long journey of spiritual growth, educational enrichment, and meaningful connection. Running from July 7 to August 1, the camp served as a dynamic environment where students aged 7 to 15 deepened their understanding of Islam, built lasting friendships, and developed valuable life skills.
Under the guidance of dedicated teachers and volunteer mentors, many of whom served as role models and big brothers and sisters, campers engaged in a diverse range of activities designed to nurture their minds, bodies, and hearts. The daily program was anchored in Qur’an memorization, Islamic studies, and character-building lessons (tarbiyah). Students joined the congregational prayers (jama’ah) with their teachers and volunteers, building a strong sense of community and spiritual discipline. Alongside their core lessons, campers enjoyed a variety of hands-on activities, STEM workshops, an introduction to programming, art and craft sessions, sports, and scouting. The scouting program was a big hit, where students learned about teamwork, first aid, setting up tents, and even got to enjoy scout games and a traditional campfire experience.
The afternoons were full of energy with art projects, football and basketball drills, and group games. Wednesdays and Thursdays were reserved for digital learning, and students were allowed to bring their tablets or laptops only for programming classes. Outside of those hours, phones and devices were kept away so kids could enjoy screen-free social time with their friends.
The camp wasn’t just about classes and activities; it was also a community effort. Parents stepped in with generous support, sponsoring pizza, ice cream, and chocolate snacks that made our students’ days even sweeter. The campers, in turn, gave back by helping clean the DCA complex in a group effort to promote environmental responsibility and teamwork.
One of the most special aspects of the summer camp was the presence of our amazing team of volunteers and teachers. Many of them served as older siblings and role models for the campers, joining them in prayers, guiding them through activities, and building strong bonds along the way. This summer reminded us that education is not just about books and lectures, it’s about adab, companionship, and nurturing the whole person.
With over four weeks of learning, laughter, creativity, and reflection, the DCA Summer Camp continues to grow as a place where young Muslims can feel proud of who they are, deepen their knowledge, and become confident in living their faith. We’re so thankful to all the families who joined us this year, and we look forward to welcoming even more campers next summer, inshallah!
