Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevde Düzgüner Visits Diyanet Center of America
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevde Düzgüner, Head of the Department of Converts and International Social Religious Services at the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı), visited the Diyanet Center of America (DCA) as part of collaborative programs conducted in partnership between the two institutions.
Meeting with Latino Revert Sisters Community
At the Diyanet Center, Dr. Düzgüner met with Latino revert women living in the United States. The gathering centered on religion, family, and identity formation, intrafamilial communication, and the spiritual development of new generations. The meeting took place in a warm and sincere atmosphere, giving participants the opportunity to share their personal experiences openly.
The same Latino revert sisters community had previously visited Turkey as guests of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, with Konya Metropolitan Municipality serving as host. Attendees noted that Konya's rich historical and spiritual atmosphere had left a deep and lasting impression, further strengthening their sense of Islamic identity.
Lecture at Open Mosque Day — 21st DCA Festival
Dr. Düzgüner also participated in the 21st Diyanet Center of America Festival. During the Open Mosque Day held as part of the festival, she delivered a lecture on spirituality and Islam, engaging attendees from diverse backgrounds in a meaningful dialogue about faith and inner life.
