Bangladesh National Defence College Commandant Visits

Lieutenant General Muhammad Faizur Rahman, Commandant of Bangladesh National Defence College, and his accompanying delegation comprised of 24 members (including course members from Bangladesh and Friendly Foreign Countries) visited the DCA in Maryland. The visit highlighted the center’s role in bringing different cultures together and promoting a correct and authentic understanding of Islam in the West.
During the visit, Gen Rahman and the delegation toured the DCA and received information about its facilities, activities, and multifunctional structure. The delegation also attended Friday prayers at the DCA.
Dr. Fatih Kanca, President of the DCA, expressed his pleasure at welcoming Gen Rahman and his delegation. Dr. Kanca described the visit as an important meeting in terms of cultural diplomacy and emphasized that the DCA serves as a significant hub that brings together people from different cultures and communities.
Lt Gen Muhammad Faizur Rahman highlighted the functional and multifunctional nature of the DCA, noting that the center serves people of all ages and provides an important space for community engagement and cultural exchange.
He also emphasized the importance of the DCA in presenting Islam to Western audiences in an accurate and authentic manner. Gen Rahman noted that the center provides a meaningful response to inaccurate and misleading portrayals of Islam and contributes to a better understanding of the religion.
Gen Rahman further stated that the DCA plays an important role in strengthening communication, mutual understanding, and dialogue among different cultures.
The visit concluded with a luncheon and an exchange of souvenirs.
