The first day of Ramadan fasting is Wednesday, May 16, 2018. Moon will be setting in West Coast of USA, 27 minutes after the Sunset and in Hawaii 37 minutes after the Sunset.
Therefore it is possible for it to be sighted with a telescope in West Coast (California) of America and by the naked eye in Hawaii. North America shares the night with Hawaii.
The first Taraweeh of the Ramadan will be held on May 15, 2018. The first day of fasting is Wednesday, May 16.
