Prof. Dr. Numan Kurtulmus Visits Diyanet Center of America
Lanham, MD, July 7th, 2024 – The Diyanet Center of America (DCA) was honored to host Prof. Dr. Numan Kurtulmus, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, for a day filled with significant engagements and beneficial discussions.
The Turkish-American Community Meeting commenced with a welcome speech by the Diyanet Center of America Chairman, Assoc. Prof. Fatih Kanca. Turkish Ambassador to the US Sedat Onal also addressed the audience briefly, setting a tone of unity and cooperation for the day’s events.
Following the Dhuhr prayer at the DCA Mosque, Prof. Dr. Kurtulmus met with leaders from various Turkish NGOs and community members.
Later in the afternoon, Prof. Dr. Kurtulmus convened with prominent Muslim American leaders in the Conference Room of the Cultural Center at 4:30 PM. This session was particularly significant as it focused on exchanging ideas and discussing projects aimed at enhancing the well-being and representation of Muslim Americans. The discussions underscored the importance of collaboration and mutual support within the community.
