    Assalamu Alaykum,

We were there today for the puppet show and writing workshop at the cultural center. We drove all the way from Derwood. There was no writing workshop. I asked the author about the puppet show, she sais it only lasted 15 minutes. It’s obvious that she was there with her husband to just make sales. There was no added value for the kids in terms of entertainment or learning. I was disappointed.

    Thank you and Salam.

WAS, Thank you for reaching out to the Diyanet Center of America. What time did you arrive to the DCA? In our program flyer, it said clearly that the program will be between 2pm-4.30pm . The author came early to set up and she was ready at 2pm but waited for more people to arrive. Yes, puppet show lasted 15 minutes but the author interacted with the kids. She asked questions about the story and answered questions for about another 15 minutes. At the end of the puppet show we announced that the writing workshop will take place at the library. Afyer signing her books, she gave an hour long writing workshop to the kids(30 kids registered) and ended the program around 4.15pm.

We are very sorry that you missed the puppet show and the writing workshop.
We hope to see you in our future programs.

      JAK
